Your fast thinking brain most likely finished the title of this post before it was even over, but for the unfamiliar the last word is supposed to be “Bootstraps.” Bootstrapping was a popular idea where I grew up. It is a metaphor used to convey that if you want to improve your life, then you just need to try harder. It is a context blind statement that assumes that if you give enough effort, then you can be better. Not just can be, but more accurately, will be better. In other words, what you get out of life is based on merit and merit alone. A Meritocracy if you will.
For the next 4 1/2 months this blog will be the product of Curric 675: Games, Culture, & Power, after that we shall see what happens ;) The public is welcome to post, however comments will be monitored (mostly for spam). Guest posts in line with the curriculum (even tangentially) are also welcome. Past year’s posts are from AN302: Subcultures in the Digital Age and AN150: Multicultural America.

All Paths Are Walked Alone
The path that the spiritual side of my life has taken me upon has been long and winding and full of cul-de-sacs and blind alleys. I hesitate to call myself a "pagan" but I cannot say that it is an inaccurate label.
